Michael Russel

French Horn Teacher

Michael Russell is a freelance French Horn artist and educator based out of Orange County. Michael has an Associate’s degree in Music with Honors from Fullerton College and has most recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in both French Horn Performance and Music Education from the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at the California State University of Long Beach.

As a performer, he has had a great range of experiences with many different styles, from performing within the Tournament of Roses, in several Mariachi ensembles, and even as the principal horn in our nation’s capitol. He was also a soloist at Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corps as well as a founding member of White Rose Winds.

As an educator, Michael has taught in many schools throughout Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino county and is currently working as a music consultant and program coordinator within the Anaheim Union High School District.
